Often commercial printing presses are designed to run rolls of paper with metal tips on the end of the fiber core. The metal tip helps improve damage resistance and improves the structural integrity of the core. If the need arises, SOS can install the metal tips or “end caps” after the roll of paper leaves the mill. The type of end cap installed depends entirely upon the customer’s specific press specifications. Solid, single notched, double notched, beveled, and flanged are just a few that can be professionally installed by SOS technicians.
